The founder of Wearing History, Lauren, established Wearing History as a way to revive the lost arts through a practical knowledge of clothing creation through original period sources. The availability of e-patterns makes accessible instantly patterns which are often otherwise lost to time. Through studying antique methods we better understand how clothing was created and can revive the practical arts of creating with our own hands. At Wearing History our patterns are made by an actual human- exploring history of pattern cut in a tangible form. Our patterns are NEVER A.I. generated. Lauren was trained in traditional pattern draping, drafting, and grading and has spent the last 20+ years in the physical practice in clothing creation and sewing, primarily through authentic historical period sources.
