PM2898- Circa 1922 Ladies' & Misses' Coat
*This is ADVANCED difficulty- no sewing instructions included*
This is a PRINTED PATTERN- mailed to you!
A Pattern Preservation Project pattern, this design, circa 1922 for a lovely drop-waisted coat with a side closing and front drape. This pattern is iconic for the early 1920s, with large sleeves, a large collar, and a longer coat length. The large collar can button up high at the neck or be left open.
Please be aware- this pattern has almost no construction information and is recommended for "Advanced" level stitchers, as with all Pattern Preservation Project patterns. Please read more below.
----Size----
This pattern was only available in one size, Size 40" Bust. No other body measurements were provided.
----Yardage----
Size 40" bust takes 5 yards of 42" wide fabric, as per the original instructions. It also needs a lining fabric (no lining instructions are included).
You may be able to cut this from less fabric if using a wider fabric (such 50"+ width). Test layout on a mock up fabric and measure total length used before cutting to estimate yardage amounts.
----Difficulty----
ADVANCED/EXPERT
This pattern includes only one very vague page of period instructions with no instruction text and no modern instruction. Please expect some experimentation when making this pattern. Note that this pattern DOES NOT INLCUDE any written instructions. The original diagram is included. You use the numbered notches to assemble the pattern. You will likely want to have a sewing book handy to help with construction details.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE A MOCK UP TO TEST PATTERN FIT AND CONSTRUCTION BEFORE CUTTING INTO YOUR FASHION FABRIC.
The patterns in the Pattern Preservation Project are suggested for Advanced/Expert skill level by default, as the instructions are extremely minimal and vague. However, adventurous stitchers of all levels who don't mind experimentation or assembly without instructions may attempt this pattern. This pattern has been replicated in its entirety.

HOW TO USE E-PATTERNS
Most patterns come as both A4/US LETTER and A0 size. You will need ADOBE READER, a free program, to print your e-pattern.
For A4/US LETTER paper:
Open the "READ-ME-FIRST" File for instructions on printing and piecing your pattern. Print the PDF file on your home printer, cut off on the lines given, and tape them together. Then you cut and use your pattern just as you would a normal home sewing pattern.
For A0 size:
This is sent away to a copyshop and printed on big sheets for you. We print A0 pattern sheets at great prices at Pattern Printing Company
