This e-book is meant as a companion for your Edwardian sewing, and can be used in conjunction with the 1910s Blouse Pattern in order to create a period style embellished blouse. This e-book can be used in combination with any other patterns or styles you wish to add a little bit of romance to, and can be applied to earlier and later time periods.
This e-book is composed of excerpts from three different sources- two 1910s sewing books and a 1911 Gimbel Brothers Catalog, all with an emphasis on decorative lace insertion, embroidery, or other work typically seen on Edwardian "Whites" or "Lingerie Dresses." All images have been digitally remastered and restored and are in black and white. This e-book has 100 pages of inspiration and information for your Edwardian or heirloom sewing.
The sewing portion of this e-book covers lace application, insertion, and decoration, different seams, decorative stitches, ruffles, tucks or plaits, and information on constructing lingerie blouses and underwear. All methods of sewing are shown as traditional sewing work, and are given her in their period context in order to help preserve dressmaking history technique.
The catalog images are excerpts from a 1911 catalog which can be used as inspiration for the sewing techniques included. Most images are for women, but include a few images for children as well. Women's articles pictured include dresses, blouses, underwear, and nightgowns.
The catalog also includes images of lace yardage and collars which would have been available in 1911. Using the images in this e-book as reference will help you to select period appropriate laces for your embellishment projects.

HOW TO USE E-PATTERNS
Most patterns come as both A4/US LETTER and A0 size. You will need ADOBE READER, a free program, to print your e-pattern.
For A4/US LETTER paper:
Open the "READ-ME-FIRST" File for instructions on printing and piecing your pattern. Print the PDF file on your home printer, cut off on the lines given, and tape them together. Then you cut and use your pattern just as you would a normal home sewing pattern.
For A0 size:
This is sent away to a copyshop and printed on big sheets for you. We print A0 pattern sheets at great prices at Pattern Printing Company
