Introducing Wearing History's "Pattern Preservation Project".
This new line of patterns focuses on digitally preserving as many antique originals as possible. These patterns are *very challenging* to construct, but worth preserving and experimenting with!

This pattern is for a Circa 1920 Ladies' Blouse, #E-PB2562. This pattern is for size 34" Bust Only. The waist was not originally given, but it is likely 24"-26" and this blouse would have been made to be worn over a corset and period undergarments.

The original period pattern description: LADIES’ WAIST with Kimono Side-Body Attached to Blouse Body Lining. Marked for Camisole Top, (To be Made as a Separate Waist or Attached to a Skirt as a One-Piece Dress.)

This pattern originally appeared in The Delineator in the year 1920. This blouse style was popular from around 1918-1921, so can be adapted for 1910s impressions.

The sewing instructions do not specify finishing or fasteners. You may need a period sewing book handy for the tricky bits of construction, as instruction is from the time period and extremely minimal.

This pattern is for size 34" Bust. Waist measurements were not given, but it's not uncommon in this era to have a 10" difference between bust and waist (so assume it is likely a 24-26" waist). Make a mock up to test it out!

--- A clean, computer drawn pattern of the basic pattern shapes needed to create the garment illustrated.
--- The original front and back cover images. The back cover included very cutting instructions with no cutting chart.
--- Minimal illustrated instructions are provided. These are mostly illustrations of the garment constructed entirely and DO NOT include step-by-step instruction, finishing, fastener placement, or lining instructions. See image in the listing for an example of the antique instructions. In this period, for this particular maker, instructions were on one single-sided piece of paper (not multiple pages).
--- Typed text of the front and back information for reading clarity (those old covers could have tiny text, so we find this easier to read).
--- You must be familiar with how to put a garment together using pattern shapes and garment illustration.
--- One page about Pattern Preservation Project with links to my blog for period sewing books and other period fashion information which may help with sewing antique patterns. There are no tutorials for this pattern specifically.
--- Two pages of images of the sewing pattern from The Delineator. This includes an illustration of an embroidery motif that you can adapt to the design. **No full size embroidery is included** as that pattern was sold separately in this time period.
--- This pattern has had some very minor adjustments, and has the addition of labeling on the pieces, where they were originally just punched holes. The majority of circles, dots, lines, external edges, and notches are exactly as they were in the original period pattern pieces. Some adjustments of notches, placement, and pattern edges should be expected, as most are unchanged to preserve the historical accuracy of the original source material.

As much as I would love to help with every pattern, the Pattern Preservation Project has extremely challenging antique sewing patterns which are replicated from period sources, so please expect some experimentation and research to complete the sewing projects.
